Get info about Blue Mountain Community College HVAC technician, registering in a technical training program, and taking practice exams for free online. Engineering is one of the fastest-growing employment areas, for several strong reasons. As technical progress permeates industrial processes in manufacturing, food technology and agriculture, engineers are increasingly in demand. If you complete the HVAC technician program, for example, there are a variety of concentrations that may appeal to you such as heating science, ventilation systems, or refrigeration methods. Further, due to advances in building technology, there is a growing shortage of HVAC technician graduates, and of skilled engineering technicians in general. In modern buildings the design, installation, and control systems of various functions are integrated into one or more HVAC systems. Heaters exist for various types of fuel, including solid fuels, liquids, and gases. Another type of heat source is electricity, used in baseboard heaters. Alternatively, warm air may be distributed through duct work systems using metal or fiberglass ducts. Many systems use the same ducts to distribute air cooled by an evaporator coil for air conditioning. Because an air conditioner moves heat between the indoor coil and the outdoor coil, both must be kept clean. This means that you must regularly clean the condenser coil, in addition to replacing the air filter at the evaporator coil.
HVAC technicians may receive training from technical schools or community colleges that offer HVAC tech training in heating, air conditioning, and refrigeration. These programs generally last from 6 months to 2 years, and lead to a certificate or an associate’s degree. The median annual wage for heating, air conditioning, and refrigeration HVAC engineering technicians was $45,110 as of May 2015. Further, employment of HVAC technician graduates is projected to grow 14 percent over the next decade, much faster than average.

3D Printer Technology
3D printing is an emerging engineering technology used mainly for rapid prototyping across a wide variety of industries. How are 3D objects printed? There are several different printing processes, including breaking down a 3D digital file into cross sections, and depositing material layer by layer to build up a real, 3D object. The term 3D printing emerged when MIT patented several 3-dimensional printing techniques. 3D printing technology is most-often used in the automotive, medical, consumer electronics, and manufacturing industries. In automotive application, for example, companies not only can print out individual parts, but specialized tooling as well. Finally, 3D prototyping offers great savings in product design costs. 3D prototypes can be used to accelerate product testing, where multiple design variations can be tested rapidly. This is crucial in short-run manufacturing. Alterations can be made and reprinted at a moment?s notice, even within the most intricate design specifications.

Engineering Job Listings
The Fundamentals of Engineering exam should be taken immediately after earning a bachelors degree from an ABET-accredited program. Engineers who pass this exam are called engineers in training (EIT), or engineer interns. After meeting work experience requirements, engineer interns can attempt a second certifying exam, called the Principles and Practice of Engineering Exam. Thereafter, acquisition of a professional engineering license enables management of junior engineers, the ability to sign off on engineering projects, and provide services directly to the public. Wages vary by employer and location. Aside from salary, most engineering jobs include excellent benefits, as well as retirement plans.Job listings below are updated hourly: | Starting Salary (up to) | 10 Year Salary (up to) |
